Circuits
Circuits are variable, however they typically operate on the downwind side
Gliders will join the circuit at 800 feet
Gliders will add an extra diagonal leg between downwind and base that is variable based on the wind- pilots should give extra distance to accommodate for this as gliders have priority
When calling out, include which side circuit and the runway you intend to land on
Runways
Runway 09/27N is normally used for takeoffs
Runway 09/27S is normally used for landings
The grass strip is only available for aircraft without a nosewheel

Departures
Departures to the west
Avoid overflying Dinnet
Northerly wind component: Suggested to depart straight ahead on runway heading to the south of Dinnet
Southerly wind component: Is advisable to turn north approximately halfway between the west end of the runway and Dinnet to avoid the village and possible sinking air and turbulence from the ridge line south of the Dee
Departures to the east
Avoid overflying Aboyne and a group of houses at a bend in South Deeside Road to the South
Notes
The windsocks to the north and south of the runways may vary due to local weather effects
Strong turbulence may be experienced due to terrain
Strong differences in upper and surface winds may cause strong windshear and heavy sink at low altitudes
Caution: Gliders launch by Aerotow and self launching
Pilots should avoid noise sensitive areas
