Andrewsfield aerodrome is located in Essex on the eastern edge of the Stansted CTR and below the Stansted CTA and is approximately 4 nautical miles north west of Braintree

- The runway is divided along its length into two separate 799x18m runways, designators L and R are displayed short of the runway ends
Circuits
Circuits are right hand at a height of 700 feet QFE
There is specific circuit procedures that avoid overflying local houses
Local Flying Area (LFA)
An LFA is established and is the same dimensions of the Andrewsfield ATZ up to 1500 feet QNH with a radius of 2 nautical miles from the centre of the aerodrome. Use of which is subject to the following:
- Remain clear of cloud, in sight of surface and with a flight visibility of at least 3km
- Not above altitude 1500 feet QNH, 1214 feet QFE
- Non radio aircraft pilots must obtain a briefing before their flight
Aircraft may be operating in the LFA without contact with Stansted ATC- caution should be taken
Notes
Pilots should avoid overflying villages in the vicinity of the aerodrome
Visiting aircraft must part in the area adjacent to the windsock
If you are going to transit the Stansted CTR then let Andrewsfield radio know on initial call up, if Andrewsfield radio is not on then you should contact Stansted Radar for transit information before departing
