After departure, as soon as possible turn left to avoid overflying Hatts Barn Farm
Runway 08 Arrivals
Pilots are to fly a normal approach but avoid being too low on final approach or using excessive power settings when overflying Compton village
Runway 26 Departures
After departure, as soon as possible turn right to avoid overflying Compton village and crossing Melbury hill. Pilots should avoid overflying any part of Compton Abbas village

Aircraft are to vacate the runway on the north side after landing
Distance to run markers are placed every 200 metres. When advised of soft runway conditions, and if not landed before the 600 metre marker, pilotsare requested to make another approach
100 metre unlicensed extension at either end of the runway
Warnings
The ground to the north of the runway has a steep down slope gradient
When there is a strong southerly wind, pilots can expect turbulence on aproach to both runways due to the presence of trees
Public footpath crosses the runway at the midpoint
