Circuits
Circuits operate to the south of the aerodrome at a height of 800 feet QFE
Circuit instructions are as below
Runway 05
After departure, turn left 5 degrees and track 045 degrees for at least 1.5 nautical miles
On downwind, track south of Hadleigh, and turn onto base when clear of the town
Turn onto final when west of Hadleigh
Runway 23
After departure, fly runway heading for at least 1.5 nautical miles before turning left
On the downwind leg, track south of Hadleigh, parallel to the runway, between Wolves and Hintlesham Woods
Turn onto final approach track of 235 degrees to avoid house and farms to the north east of Elmsett
Arrival Procedures
Contact Wattisham Approach when at least 15 nautical miles from Wattisham and obtain clearance
If unable to contact Wattisham pilot should:
Route not above height 800 feet QFE via Raydon disused airfield or Sudbury disused aerodrome
Remain VFR at or below height 800 feet QFE within the Wattisham MATZ
Departure Procedures
Contact Wattisham Approach prior to departure, and if unsuccessful then contact them as soon as possible after departure and always before climbing above height 800 feet QFE
Climb to a minimum of height 500 feet QFE and maintain runway heading for at least 1.5 nautical miles before turning left or right. If departing runway 05 then turn left by 5 degrees as soon as safe to do so for noise abatement
If no contact with Wattisham Approach then make blind calls and route not above height 800 feet QFE via Raydon disused airfield or Sudbury disused aerodrome
Notes
Pilots should be aware that helicopters may overfly the aerodrome at 1000 feet QFE
